Senior Couple Rocks the Dance Floor to 'Long Tall Sally' by Little Richard

The music of the 50s is still swinging today. Senior couple rocks the dance floor to ‘Long Tall Sally’ by Little Richard.

Little Richard is a classic singer and performer. From his smooth dance skills, amazing voice, and suave style, He was the full package for the music industry. In this adorable clip, a precious senior couple is showing that they still have the moves to ‘Long Tall Sally.’ Even in a walker, the wife is on beat and dancing incredibly. The husband is kicking his feet, doing a form of step-ball-change. They raise their arms and groove.

The two are very entertaining to watch. They are just enjoying an evening in their living room and decide to invite us in on the fun. Their routine is well thought out and fun. The video has gone viral for obvious reasons because not only does this couple represent an exciting musical era, but they are showing that their marriage has lasted and they are still dancing together. It is a sweet reminder to everyone that no matter what the age, we all can continue to grow in our marriages and relationships around us. They have a loyalty that has remained over time.

God shows us this kind of relationship. He is the perfect model for a long-term covenant, and he is full of adventure. When we have accepted Him as Savior, Jesus is still dancing with us no matter what age and leading us on. If you feel like you are out of touch with your youth and the joys of dancing, remember that you can still carry a youthful spirit. You can celebrate that Christ has made you alive, and you can dance in your heart even if you can no longer move with your body. We all can learn to laugh and dance in His presence because we are secure in that love.

“Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.” Psalm 149:3-4

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
