Elderly Couple Dazzles with Dance to Sam Cooke's 'Cupid'

Check out this adorable video of this fun married couple. This elderly couple dazzles with dance to Sam Cooke's 'Cupid.'

Larrie and Connie Beers know how to put on a show. In this video clip, the couple shares a dance to Sam Cooke’s ‘Cupid.’ With the lights down low and blue, red, and green lights flashing across the ceiling, Larrie and Connie begin their routine. Larrie starts to shuffle his way forward as Connie rocks the walker. Larrie turns and then faces his bride. The two are beaming at one another. They have a genuine love for each other and enjoy dancing together.

The chorus sings:

‘Cupid, draw back your bow

And let your arrow go

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Nobody but me’

What the couple may not even realize that they are doing is modeling an example of a Biblical marriage. This is a marriage that is long-lasting and committed. Connie gives a little sass with her shoulder moves, and Larrie grooves towards his bride. Then, he romantically grabs onto her hand, and the two swing-dance with one another. It is adorable! They are so in love and so vibrant for their age. They tap their legs out left and right and move to the music.

They each have their own unique style, but they are also a pair. This is a reminder for other marriages. We are each unique individuals, but we are also purposeful in our oneness with our spouses. This song reminds us that love like this is for one person only. Marriage is a wonderful gift that God has created for a husband and wife to thrive. This couple is doing that and shining for all the world to see that age does not eliminate love for one another.

“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Matthew 19:4-6

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
