Hollywood Take Note: Candace Cameron Bure Says There's a Deep Desire for Christian Films
Actress and Christian Candace Cameron Bure says there exists a big audience that wants to see more Christian and other faith-based films.
Hollywood is generally not a place or industry considered friendly to Christians and other people of faith. Many films and television shows produced by Hollywood are not family-friendly or directed at a Christian audience. Instead, they typically contain content that most Christians and other people of faith find highly objectionable or offensive.
However, those in Hollywood should sit up and take note of what Candace Cameron Bure said at the Nashville premiere of her new film “Unsung Hero.” The actress mentioned that Hollywood should start producing more Christian and faith-based films because a large audience is looking for that content.
“There’s an audience that has felt, I would say, just glossed over or even abandoned,” she said. “And we are here for it. We want these really beautiful, high-quality movies that mean something.”
Later in the interview, she mentioned people and companies that have been producing films geared more toward a Christian audience.
“And so, people like, you know, the Erwin Brothers and Kingdom Story and now Candy Rock Entertainment – we’ve, they’ve been producing great, meaningful, incredible movies, and that’s what “Unsung Hero” is,” Candace said.
Hollywood would be wise to take and seriously consider Candace’s words about creating more content for a Christian audience. For several years, movie after movie has consistently significantly underperformed or been a massive financial disaster at the theater.
The weekly box office returns show that audiences are tired of the same tired and offensive content that usually floods the theaters.
Why wouldn’t Hollywood take “The Fuller House” star’s words and produce movies and television shows that people actually want to watch? What do they have to lose? Their current strategy obviously is not working.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

A Prayer to Stay on the Path of Righteousness - Your Daily Prayer - October 5
Staying on the path of righteousness takes work; many distractions and hindrances exist. But, each day, we have a choice: will we choose God and His ways, which are better than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), or the way of the world that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14)?
