6-Year-Old Calls 911 After Discovering Her Toys Are Missing
Occasionally police get a precious call from a little one who misinterprets the true meaning of emergency. In this video, a 6-year-old calls 911 after discovering her toys are missing.
Addie Cooper is shown as a precious little girl. We hear her voice over the phone with the police dispatcher. Addie adorably says, “Hello, some of my toys are missing.” The dispatcher is compassionate and she says, “What toys are you missing, sweetheart?” Addie replies, “My Barbie,” The police dispatcher says kindly, “Your Barbies are gone?” Addies responds, “Yes, and my Baby Shark toys.” Addie shares her suspicions with the woman on the line and says, “I think a bandit stole them. Will you find them?” The dispatcher asks, “Where is your mommy at?” Addie tells her that her mother is in the shower.
As Addie is being interviewed, the woman asks how she knew how to call 911 and the little girl confidently says, “My mama told me, duh!” The mom reveals that she took the toys to the thrift store and Addie did not know.
This innocent girl believed that she had a real emergency. In her world, losing these special toys was an emergency in need of a police call. The dispatcher was so compassionate and loving to the child. This reminds us that when we “dispatch” to heaven when we pray and talk to God, no emergency is too small for Him. He cares about all the little details of our lives and enjoys it when we talk with Him. Prayer is a gift to us and the Lord is always listening.
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13
