Holderness Family Performs Funny Wedding Song Parody Mash-Up
“Hey! You know those songs that they play at every wedding?” says Kim Holderness to the camera at the start of the video. “What if they were just really honest about what was happening? Take it away babe!”
Then her husband, Penn Holderness, starts to sing a mash-up of songs usually played at wedding receptions, but with his own made-up lyrics.
The first song that he sings is ‘September’ by Earth, Wind & Fire. But Penn’s lyrics talk about forgetting the name of a guest at the wedding reception.
“Do you remember? The wife of my fraternity member. We met her last December. And I completely forgot her name.”
The next song Penn belts out is ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder. But his lyrics talk about a bride getting ugly bridesmaid dresses for her bridesmaids.
“Aren’t they ugly, the bridesmaids dresses you got. You didn’t want them to be distractingly hot. Yeah, you picked out a purplish green that will guarantee definitely, the dress will look ugly next to you.”
Another song Penn sings is the popular ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ by Van Morrison. Except this time, the lyrics talk about trying to find the passed hors d'oeuvres at a wedding.
“Hey where did she go? The girl with the food tray. I’ve been talking to people, I haven’t eaten all day. I just saw some bacon scallops. Now I’m overcome thinkin’ bout it. I tell my cousin that I have to go pee, but actually I’m sneaking over to you, the food tray girl. You’re my food tray girl.”
What a hilarious parody video that is sure to get you laughing! And if you’ve ever been to a wedding before, I’m sure you can relate to some of these funny lyrics.

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26
Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
