Loving Firefighter And Wife Launch Mobile Pet Food Pantry
One man, Al Stell, a fighter in New Jersey, and his wife, Tammy, are on a mission to feed pets in need and help their owners with their mobile pet food pantry.
Unexpected kindness, even the smallest act, can make a world of difference to someone in need. People are hurting and struggling all around us and need hope. We can be the hands and feet of Christ by showing love to others. The Bible, in the book of Matthew, states that whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did it for me.
A clip posted on YouTube tells of Al and Tammy and their mobile pet food pantry: “Bo Lends A Paw Pet Pantry.” Since the pet food pantry’s inception following the pandemic, the generous and loving couple has partnered with churches and local businesses to help pets.
But as Al explains, the origin of Bo Lends A Paw Pet Pantry all started with a simple act of kindness, helping someone in need.
“It was around 2020 when COVID first started. I went to one of the local stores to get some supplies, and there was an elderly lady who was buying cat food,” Al said. “And she had some pasta, some pasta sauces, and when they rung her up, she didn’t have enough money. So, she said, ‘My cats will eat before I do.’”
That’s when Al, seeing a need, acted.
“So, I told her I will cover the bill,” he said. “Told her to get more cat food, and that’s when I had the idea: let’s help people feed their pets.”
The video shows several people coming up to Al and Tammy to receive food for their pets. All mentioned how much they love and appreciate Al and Tammy’s efforts and kindness.
“This helps so much to be able to come here,” Lindsay Humphreys said. “They even ask about my cat all the time.
Al and Tammy saw a need and acted. They show Christlike love to pets and by extension, those who love and care for them. What a wonderful mission!
1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all you do be done in love.”
