Dylan Carter Brings Queen Reba To Tears With ‘I Look To You’ In Honor Of Late Mother

One young man brought legendary country music singer Reba McEntire to tears during his stunning and stirring blind audition on The Voice.

Music allows people to express feelings and articulate what may be hard to get across at times. Additionally, sound has the unique ability to cause people to feel a wide array of emotions. Not only that, but the same song could hold opposite meanings for two different people. One tune that makes someone tear up could result in another individual becoming enraged or upset.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young man, 20-year-old Dylan Carter, simply through the emotion conveyed in his voice during his performance, caused some of the biggest names in music to spring a leak from their eyes, including Reba McEntire and John Legend.

From the first notes of Dylan’s performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You,” it was clear that the song meant something special to him. From the opening words, Gwen was convinced of Dylan’s talent.

“I love that,” she stated.

Seconds later, the lead singer of No Doubt slammed her button, turning her chair around for the young man. John Legend, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire quickly followed. The talented young man managed to get all four judges to flip their chairs around for him.

While the judges gave feedback and made their pitches to Dylan, Reba admitted that she had teared up simply because of how much the song obviously meant to him. She even choked up when talking about his heartfelt performance.

Dylan went on to explain why the song meant so much to him.

“When I saw y'all turn around, I saw my mom,” he said. “She passed back in October, and she wanted me to sing it at her funeral. So, I did it, I tried, but I couldn’t make it through it. So, this was the best second chance. I just made her so proud.”

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
