Pentatonix Performs ‘Christmas In Our Hearts’ With Lea Salonga
Several talented musicians, wildly popular vocalists Pentatonix and singer and actress Lea Salonga, combined their musical gifts for a catchy, upbeat Christmas tune.
Christmas is a season filled with many traditions, gatherings and holiday parties. Gifts are purchased and exchanged. Dishes are cooked and prepared as people come together to share meals with one another. It’s a generally happy, joyous time of year.
But if Christmas is nothing more than those outward expressions and traditions and not about the birth of Jesus Christ, then it’s a lot of movement and actions without any meaning. It’s then sadly an empty time.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Pentatonix and Lea Salonga, perform the song “Christmas in Our Hearts.” It’s a beautifully written and sung track about the true meaning of the Christmas season: the birth of Christ.
The singer of the song’s opening verse mentions how seeing a specific scene during Christmas reminds him of the baby Jesus lying in the manager fast asleep.
Later in the song, the musicians state how they long for Christ to be the one to guide and direct them. Also, they hope that people might experience the spirit of Christmas in their hearts, not just around and on Dec. 25, but throughout the entire year.
“Let Him be the one to guide us
As another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
Be always in our hearts”
What an excellent and worthwhile request and desire. Who doesn’t want to rely on and depend upon Christ’s guidance and direction?
In addition to Christmas being arguably the happiest and best time of the year, it’s likely the busiest. Everyone seemingly has their obligations and requirements increased tenfold in the days and weeks leading up to Dec. 25.
So, among all the hustle and bustle, it can be easy to get so wrapped up and forget the actual meaning of everything going on. However, the song “Christmas in Our Hearts” is an excellent reminder of the real reason for the season!
Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child has come, to us a son is given; and the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father Forever, Prince of Peace.”
