'Mary, Did You Know?' Father-Daughter Christmas Duet

Feel the chills as Mat and Savanna Shaw sing a stunning father-daughter duet to ‘Mary, Did You Know?’

Mark Lowry spent over 7 years perfecting the lyrics to this beloved song. The idea came to Mark when he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell. He started thinking about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him. He wondered how she must have felt when the angel told her she would birth a child of God. That’s when he put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics we all know and love today.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’

You may recognize father-daughter pair Mat and Savanna Shaw from one of their many YouTube videos. The duo made headlines earlier this year when their performance of ‘The Prayer’ went viral. They’ve continued to create beautiful music together, including some Christmas favorites.

Today, they’re taking on the ultimate Christmas song with this incredible performance of ‘Mary, Did You Know?’

Prepare for goosebumps as they belt out these iconic words.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am’

Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

This can create a low-level hum of anxiety if the upcoming family get-togethers feel like a risky walk through a minefield.
