Acoustic Performance of Classic Hymn ‘Just As I Am’ By the Brother Of The Heart

Jimmy Fortune, Bradley Walker, Ben Isaacs and Mike Rodgers – the Country/Gospel/Bluegrass Supergroup known as Brothers of The Heart—played us a few songs from their new ‘Listen To The Music’ project. Enjoy this CCM-exclusive acoustic performance of the Gospel classic ‘Just As I Am.’

No one on the face of the earth is perfect. God’s Word mentions that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Thankfully, the Lord does not require us to clean up or change our ways before reaching out to Him.

Instead, God, in all our sins and shame, accepts and calls us to come to Him in our current state. The classic old hymn “Just As I Am” perfectly captures this idea that the Lord does not want us to wait any longer but to come to Him now.

The group Brothers of The Heart sing and play the classic hymn. The song’s lyrics tell about a person who has come to the realization that they need to and do turn to the Lord. With everything that may be happening in their life, all the doubts and fears, they are giving it to Him.

The lyrics in the song’s third verse accurately paint a picture of total surrender to the Lord.

“With many a conflict, many a doubt
Fightings within and fears without
O God, I come, I come”

There is a ton of truth and wisdom in the song's lyrics. Whatever may be going on in our lives, whatever the situation, the Lord calls us to reach out and turn to Him.

In addition to the message, this version of the song is pleasant to the ears. Brothers of The Heart’s country/bluegrass sound makes for a terrific rendition of the beloved old hymn.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
