The Voice contestant Alyssa Crosby turned in a stunning cover performance of Elton John’s “I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues,” captivating audiences.

Everyone wants to be an actor or a musician or work in the entertainment field in some capacity. The popularity and competitive nature of shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice prove this to be 100% true. It’s a highly competitive field with many people desperately trying to break in and get a chance to prove themselves.

Even on those popular talent shows, there is only ever one winner. Thousands try out, hoping to make it onto the show, but only one person wins the top spot. However, before those programs select their winner every season, audiences are treated to stellar performances from a lineup of incredibly talented individuals.

Alyssa Crosby is one of those people who has been blessed with an enormous amount of God-given talent. During her latest appearance on The Voice, Alyssa performed a cover of an Elton John classic, “I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues.”

And she absolutely nailed it!

Time on my hands

Could be time spent with you”

Alyssa, a member of Team Chance, showed off her astounding vocals and incredible stage presence. She had all the program’s judges smiling, including her coach, Chance The Rapper.

As great as her performance was, she really did leave the best for last. Near the 1:40-minute mark of the clip, Alyssa showed that she is fully capable of reaching for and hitting high notes. 

Alyssa sent the studio audience into a frenzy. They gave her a well-deserved and deafening round of applause.
