Football Causes Problems For Carol Burnett And Harvey Korman In Hysterical Sketch

Two legendary comedic actors, Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman, hilariously demonstrated how football season can be a difficult time of year for couples.

Most people in the United States of America love football. If not them personally, they know someone who is obsessed with watching their favorite team do battle on the gridiron. As great a game as football is, it can suck up a lot of one’s time and attention. This situation may lead to heated discussions, or lack thereof, between spouses.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Carol continually attempts to talk to her husband, played by Harvey. However, her efforts to strike up a conversation are unsuccessful. He is glued to the television as he’s more concerned with watching the final few minutes of an all-important football game.

Carol refuses to quit. She wants to be acknowledged and have a discussion with her husband, and she goes to great and pretty hilarious lengths to accomplish this. She places herself between her husband and the television.

To continue watching the football game, Harvey physically picks Carol up and places her on the other side of the room. This maneuver seems to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. At this point, Carol is steaming mad, screaming at her football-obsessed husband.

“That did it,” Carol yells. “That absolutely did it!”

She then grabs a newspaper, crumbles it up and throws it onto the floor.

“I am leaving this house, and I am not coming back until the end of the football season,” Carol screams.

She storms the door, but not even all that commotion is enough to get her husband’s attention away from the television. So, Carol does an “instant replay” of what she just did. This is the highlight and funniest part of the entire sketch.

She moves backward and makes it appear that she is being rewound to yell about football again.

Carol Burnett is a legendary comedian, and this clip perfectly shows why she is universally adored and loved!
