Welcome to the program. We will pick up where we left off last week. We are in Psalm 98. Open your Bible and lets look at this together. In verse one he says, O sing to the Lord a new song for He has done marvelous things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. We talked about this earlier in an earlier program, the idea of singing to the Lord a new song. Some just sing the same old songs in the same old way. I think an old song can be fresh. It can be new as we think about the melody. About 10 years ago I went to Israel and I was use to singing on a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame. I probably sang the hymn a couple hundred times. But it had a brand new meaning to it when I saw the hill, its their. Sing to the Lord a new song, same song in a fresh way. Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things. Lets think about marvelous things. ou can think of creation, just the amazing ness of the human body, the eye and the ear. What is the most marvelous thing that Jesus ever did? I think the most marvelous thing He ever did was dying on a cross. Through that He gave each of us the blessed gift of eternal life with Him. He has done marvelous things. His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. Victory over what? Over death, over satan, over sin, over the world. Victory in Jesus. His right hand and His holy arm has gained Him the victory. Verse 2. The Lord has made known His salvation, His righteousness. He has revealed in the sight of the nations. Precious information in that verse. Verse 2. The Lord has made known His salvation. Without the revelation of the cross, without Him revealing salvation, I don't think I would ever have gotten it. I don't think I would have read the Bible one day and; God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and so forth, Oh yea I understand that, no that is something that needed to
