'Burdens' Jamie Kimmett Acoustic Performance At New Song Cafe

Contemporary singer and songwriter Jamie Kimmett shares an acoustic performance of his single, ‘Burdens.’ This powerful song reminds us all to give our worries over to God and trust Him with all your heart.

“Come and lay your burdens down
To the place where freedom is found
At the feet, at the feet of Jesus
Come and lay your burdens down”

Jamie is a talented Scottish singer-songwriter with a true heart for God. From a young age, Jamie knew he wanted to a career in music.

His musical dream took him all the way to Los Angeles where he received big offers from top record labels. But along the way, he continued to feel like someone was trying to get his attention. “It’s like God was bringing all these people to talk to me one after the other. It got to the point where I’d be in line at Starbucks, turn around and someone would ask, ‘Do you know Jesus?’ and I’d reply, ‘No, I’m just here for some hot chocolate.’”

But God continue to speak to Jamie in unique ways. But there was a life-changing moment in a gym locker room that Jamie will never forget. He opened up a locker and there was a religious book inside. “In that locker room I said to God, ‘Are you real? Do you exist? If you are real, the next church invitation I get, I’ll go.”

And that’s exactly what happened. After visiting church with a friend, Jamie started a relationship with the Lord. He even turned down a record deal with a major label when he felt God leading him in a different direction. Jamie left LA to travel back home and learn more about the Word of God. Now, he’s praising the Lord with his musical talents and it’s absolutely incredible.

“When we see Him face to face
All our worries will surely fade away
In the presence of His glorious light
We’ll sing hallelujah to the one who gave us life”

As you listen to the lyrics of ‘Burdens’ be reminded that we are all children of God and He is our way, our truth and our light.
