Katherine McPhee And David Foster Sing 'Hallelujah' During Quarantine

While stuck in quarantine like most of us during this coronavirus pandemic, Katherine McPhee and David Foster performed a duet of ‘Hallelujah’ and shared it online.

“We’re new at this. We’re going to be coming to you every day,” David Foster says at the beginning of the video about their plans to share daily clips of them singing.

“Cause we’re bored! But we’re sticking with the program for the greater good,” says Katherine McPhee. “This is crazy times.”

The pair decide to sing ‘Hallelujah’ and David begins to play the introduction of the song.

“Well I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah”

Katherine’s beautiful vocals are wonderful to listen to as David’s impressive piano skills accompany her. Then during the second verse of the song, David joins in with his singing.

“So happy I came here; we need this during this time of uncertainty. Music is very healing,” writes one YouTube user about the video.

“You guys are so adorable! Made my day!” comments another person on YouTube. “Too much talent all in one house! Love it when David sings. Those harmonies! We need more!”

Later in the video, Katherine sings a beautiful version of the song ‘Smile.’ “We love to do this song together,” she shares.

“Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you”

Finally, the pair ends their video singing the song ‘Unforgettable’ by Nat King Cole. It is great to see so many artists sharing their talents with the world online to give us all something to look forward to!

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
