Hilarious Parody Explains How Southern Weather Works

Southern weather can be unpredictable, but this hilarious skit finally explains how this wonky weather really works. The funny people over at It’s A Southern Thing know all about being raised in the South. From the accents and love of Chick-Fil-A to the overbearing grandmothers, there are just certain elements that only happen down there. If you are from any of these regions, you’re probably shaking your head in agreement.

Today, these hilarious folks are letting us eavesdrop on the Southern Weather Plan meeting between all 4 seasons. As they sit around the table, it’s time to make the calendar of weather for the coming year. First, there is Winter who arrives late and only wants to sign up for sporadic days. “Maybe a few snowflakes, but no accumulation. Just enough to shut everything down and cause mass panic for like 24 to 48 hours.”

Winter is always an interesting time in the South. There can be snowstorms one week and temperatures in the 60s the next. So, it’s refreshing to see this play out on screen. Then, Spring steps up and announces that there will be tons of pollen but not a lot of rain. Summer wants to dominate the entire calendar, including months that he does not belong. Finally, Fall comes along and we all breathe a sigh of relief because she promises a great October with perfect ‘sweater weather.’ But at the last minute, Summer pulls out one last surprise that has all of us Southerners banging our heads.
