Kim shares her story of healing after a WHIPPLE surgery, and what God has taught her through that season of healing. Depending on what God is trying to achieve in us will determine the specifics of how and when he chooses to heal us (loved this insight!)

She talks about the process of persevering through a hard time using the metaphor of sowing and reaping, ultimately leading to a harvest and the subsequent seasons of pruning. Kim shares that she believes we are blessed when we are in difficult situations because the goal is to be sanctified and grow.

Scripture mentioned in this episode:

Psalm 126: 5-6:
"Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them."

Isaiah 28: 27-29

"Caraway is not threshed with a sledge,
nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin;
caraway is beaten out with a rod,
and cumin with a stick.
Grain must be ground to make bread;
so one does not go on threshing it forever.
The wheels of a threshing cart may be rolled over it,
but one does not use horses to grind grain.
All this also comes from the Lord Almighty,
whose plan is wonderful,
whose wisdom is magnificent."

Today's Devotional

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
