Miracle Stream: “I felt the power of God wash over me†Michael Smith was born with congenital scoliosis in his upper spine. It is common for this condition to remain undiagnosed until adolescence. So it was with Michael. "I loved running during my school days," Michael recalls. "I would look forward to it every time, and I anticipated being able to participate in track-and-field events for years to come. But I began having back pain. It got worse and worse. Eventually I couldn't even participate in PE, much less track and field. I couldn't sit for long periods of time. That's when the diagnosis came that changed everything." Over time, Michael developed a hump in his upper back that prohibited him from standing up straight. "It was something I just learned to live with," he says, "and it was that way into my fifties. It was painful. I didn't like it. But I did what I had to do. Then I began watching This Is Your Day! with Benny Hinn and participating in ministry events. When I learned of an upcoming Holy Spirit Miracle Crusade to be held in Beaumont, Texas, in March of 2004, my wife, Patti, and I made plans to attend." When they arrived, they were interviewed by two local television reporters. "They asked us about our reasons for attending," Michael relates. "We told them that we were there to worship the Most High God. And that was the truth. We didn't know all that God was going to do." What God did there changed Michael's life forever. During the service, he felt the Holy Spirit prompting him to recommit every area of his life and to confess every sin to the Lord Jesus. "It was right at that moment that Patti put her hand on my back," Michael remembers vividly, "and I felt the power of God wash over me. I decided to test my faith, and I began walking up the stairs, though shaky at first. It was something I hadn't been able to do for some time. By the time I reached the top of the stairs, I ran to the elevator to make my way to the lowest level of the civic center and to go to the platform to testify that I was completely pain free!" Two years later, Michael Smith is a robust picture of health. He exercises, lifts weights, and loves running again. "Patti and I can't stop testifying of God's healing power," he shares. "We are excited to share our story to help others receive their miracle too!" I am a volunteer for disaster recovery. There are over 17,000 FEMA trailors with people still waiting for help, I am one of them. Here is a link to our web page: http://home.gt.rr.com/stmike/ Have a bless day!
