How often do we love people based on how they’ve treated us? If someone is good to us we have an easier time loving them. That is perfect love, loving someone at their worst.
The Spirit of God dwells in you. if you are a follower of Christ. The same power that conquered death lives in you! How incredible is that?!
As a believer in Christ we are made new. Our old way of living has passed away, although we will be tempted to indulge in our previous life as a sinner-having been given life, but acting like we are dead. You are made new in Christ!
Being a follower of Christ should not happen one day out of the week, it should happen everyday of our lives. By committing to God everything we do, out of service for Him, we truly worship the Lord of Lords.
Giving Jesus our lives and following His ways does not mean that we are immune to trials and tragedies in our lives. Therefore, consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds brothers and sisters in Christ.
It’s okay to let God know how you feel and what you want. If you feel anxious about anything, pray in supplication thanking Him for everything He has already given and ask for the desires of your heart to aline with His will.
I cannot help but be reminded of the popular lyrics of “Your Love Never Fails,” which has been sung in many churches across the world:
“Nothing can separate even if I ran away. Your love never fails. I know I still make mistakes but You have new mercies for me everyday. Your love never fails.”
Romans 8:38-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. His love is greater than.
Be afraid of compromise when it comes to doctrine. 1 Timothy warns us to watch our lives and doctrine closely because the two go hand in hand. Our actions will reflect our beliefs, whether we are aware of them or not. Guard your doctrine so that those who see and hear from you will be lead to Jesus.
Through revelation from God we have been given the most powerful weapon: the Holy Word of God, the Bible. Daily time spent with God in His Word has powerful effect on our lives. His Word is not dead, nor does it come back void (cf. Isaiah 55:11).
The scriptures are powerful. Not only are they living and active but they are God breathed. God has given us a manual for living a life in surrender to the cross of Christ that we may live in Him everlasting.
