Dear Friends,
Family of Faith Church seeks to help you build a home discipleship culture in your home. Our mission states: Encouraging simple Christian practices in the home - Bible reading, prayer, memorizing Scripture, family worship and singing - so lives may be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word.
Any relationship grows from listening and talking repeatedly. The Christian practices listed in the mission statement provide individuals and families ways to listen and talk repeatedly to God. These habits of interacting with God's Word bring us into a closer relationship with our Creator God.
Building strong spiritual habits is similar to building strong physical habits. When developing consistent physical habits, many actually need to join the health club and hire personal trainers. The apostle Paul understood the challenge of developing a disciplined spiritual walk.
"Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." (I Cor. 9:25-27)
Family of Faith Church challenges each of us as individuals and families to grow in a closer relationship with Christ. We do this by providing support and accountability to each family developing the home discipleship practices of Bible reading, prayer, Scripture memory, family worship and singing.
However, we are aware that this challenge must always be measured with the grace of God. Your relationship with God is a gift of grace, not a result of your works or habits. Therefore, we will do our best to both challenge you in excellent spiritual habits and to encourage you with grace to constantly face the difficulties in starting and maintaining a home discipleship walk with God.
We look forward to welcoming you to our church!
Sincerely,
Pastor Henry Reyenga
