Hi! My name is Adam Trent and I live in Black Mountain, North Carolina with my lovely and patient wife and our three beautiful children. Our daughter Brigette begins her college sophomore year as a transfer student this week at Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina and our sons Christopher and Ethan are in the seventh and second grades respectively. Laura and I are just so proud of all of our children!
I am a priest in the orthodox and evangelical Anglican tradition and my family and I are about to begin a new church plant work in West Asheville, North Carolina. This new missionary work is supported by the Anglican Province of Rwandaâs Anglican Mission in the Americas, Heart of North America Network and St. Paulâs Church â Asheville. We are very excited about this opportunity particularly because it is focused on Asheville's low income neighborhoods. While most church plant efforts are usually directed at young or middle income families, Laura and I feel a special call to minister to poor and broken families. They need the Gospel message too right?
I grew up in the coal fields of southern West Virginia where my father was a miner and my mother was a registered nurse. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was eight years old and was Baptized in a frozen creek in Mallory, West Virginia the next morning. By the time I was in the Army I had deserted my walk with Christ and all areas of my life suffered because of my rebellion. In 2005 the Lord really brought healing to my family and my life personally and I entered full time ministry in June of 2008.
A Morning Prayer for God to Be Near - Your Daily Prayer - May 14
God’s Word tells us that His nearness is good for us (Psalm 73:28) because with His nearness, which is wonderful in itself, we also receive His goodness.
