Irish alternative CCM outfit Bluetree formed in Belfast around the talents of vocalist/guitarist Aaron Boyd, guitarist Richard Bleakley, keyboardist Ian Jordan, bass player Andrew McCann, drummer Peter Comfort and DJ Peter Kernoghan. The band released its debut album, Greater Things, in 2008, resulting in critical and commercial acclaim both at home and internationally. God of This City, Bluetree's sophomore album, a self-described "convergence of worship, rock, and technology," arrived the following year. Bleakley, Jordan, and McCann left the group shortly after City's release, making room for new members Conor McCroy (guitar), Jonny Hobson (drums) and Pete Nickell (bass).
