Pastor Dan Borchers grew up in northern Wisconsin. He attended Valparaiso University in Indiana where he majored in theology and minored in journalism and East Asian history. He received his BA degree in 1983 with the designation Christ College Scholar for his work in the Humanities Honors Program. From there he moved to Chicago to study at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, receiving his M.Div. in 1987. Pastor Dan then served four churches as a Lutheran pastor before joining the United Church of Christ in 2008 and moving to Hinckley to serve St. Paul's in December of that year.
Pastor Dan enjoys playing guitar, especially with his fiddle-playing wife LisaJo, and enjoys writing music with her as well. He believes in keeping a very weedy garden: with six kids in a Brady Bunch style family, that's as good as it gets!
