Global Outreach Campus Ministries (GO!) is the campus outreach of the Fellowship of International Churches (FOIC), founded by Bishop Wellington Boone. Bishop Boone began reaching students through his first church in Ettrick, Virginia and founded New Generation Campus Ministries in 1982. The vision of new Generation Campus Ministries (NGM) was to fill the need to reach historically black college campuses, as well as traditional universities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The ministry continued to grow to 40 established chapters and over 1000 conference attendees.
In January of 1997 NGM became a separate organization from Wellington Boone Ministries and FOIC, and has since ceased to operate. GO! was founded by Bishop Boone in 1999 to continue the vision of bringing revival to students of all races on college campuses across America and throughout the world. GO!’s first annual Spring Conference was held in April of 2000, drawing over 100 attendees. Since then, attendance has doubled each year, with more than 400 attending in 2002.
In April of 2002, God led Forerunners for Christ, a like-minded Atlanta-based campus ministry to merge with GO!. In addition to holding Leadership Training Schools each summer from 2000, GO! held its first regional conferences in the fall of 2002. Global Outreach is currently reaching ten campuses in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia, and serves over 20 youth groups across the country. GO! plans to continue healthy expansion of staff, and the campuses and youth groups they serve.
