"picking" at one another? And I guess that means that you never once pinched, hit or pushed one of your siblings. They are sparring and look like they are having a great time. My son has been doing Taekwondo since he was 4.

Not to mention it's their culture. This is perfectly normal for them. And they are adorbs while they're learning and obviously enjoying themselves. Otherwise, they'd be crying wouldn't they?

self defense is not learning to hit each other, it's learning to defend yourself and others if need be. Christ taught us to turn the other cheek, but even through persecution, we have to stand strong and defend ourselves with our beliefs.

What does self defense have to do with Christianity? It is exactly opposite of everything Christ taught us.

in todays' world 2 little girls learning self-defense is not 'picking on one another'.

Taekwando principles are "discipline, etiquette, justice, respect & self confidence", I think it was an excellent idea for the parents to start training at such a young age.

Not a good ideal to teach kids how to hit themselves...they will probably do it to other kids and think it is fun. In my opinion kids should be kids, don't teach them to be violent

I think it's awesome that they are learning to defend themselves at an early age. I would have chosen a combat style that is more for close, hand to hand combat, but this is a good way to begin. I love how they are enjoying themselves. There is no harshness involved.

Cute??? What is cute about little ones 'picking' at one another??? Stupid, I'd say!

Usually in such sports, children/adults being taught in a controlled setting learn rules for such interactions. One of the first things that is taught (and repeatedly reinforced) is being at peace with others, and resorting to physical force only for defense.

I guess Gerhard is right. It would much cuter for these little ones to grow up and become victims of some rapist, kidnapper or thief because of their absence of practiced, instinctual, ability to defend themselves.
