The father went after the child. The mom didn't just let him go.

Calm down.

I’m sorry but as a child I was taught to do as I was told and I didn’t see any restraints placed. I have 2 children that knew when it was okay and when it wasn't to run and play. Now I see them as adults that are in control of themselves. I am a Marine. There is a place and Mom in this video did nothing. Why not? I would have been embarrassed by the presidents statement as it shows a lack of restraint that seems to have become common place in this place you call America. Its nothing like I remember it...

No, he should not been allowed to touch more than one apple. The mother or father should have had a handle on him. Parents are to follow them; not just let them run around....

Let's see, Dad is getting honored by the POTUS. You bet the kids should be there. There are 3 of them, and the event doesn't even look like it had started yet. Lastly, it's let the kid explore for 30 seconds or have the kid scream for an hour and half....? Not a tough choice. Now, if the kid was walking around playing while someone was speaking thats entirely different. This WAS funny, this WAS cute, and to think you should restrain your kid from walking around is just plain ignorant!

WOW Kris

I liked seeing the kid behind the podium instead of the other guy....

Colin was just being a typical boy in investigating the back of the President's Podium and playing a little hide and seek, being mischievous as little boys are. Everybody seemed to love him, even President Obama. I, too, am not very impressed with Obama, but being that he has a family of his own, he is fully aware how children react.

Kris Howard,I loved watching Colin, I watched the video twice. He was so cute I don't like obama, but I was very impressed on how he handled it.

Totally agree Kris. IF the kids have to be there, they need to be under control. I love children very much but I also think they need to be disciplined. To see that mother just sit there and allow him to wander up on to the podium - my word! Some people think this is 'cute' - it is certainly not in such a prestigious occasion. Yes of course have fun with kids - they are precious - but don't allow them to be precocious - it is not funny and should not be laughed at!

Karen Rowland Agree with Kris. The ceremony had not started yet MOM had 3 to deal with. Relax. Wait till you have kids.

Kris Howard Do you have the full "in context" background of this situation?? MY first thought was ... Colin's dad must've done something pretty amazing to have been invited to the Oval Office along with his wife and children ... If that is the case, it'd be sad that you think Colin should've been left out of a time so important in his father's life. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to finding the "why" behind the situations before judging them since my husband died and will never have any more special moments with our children.

you make $27h...good for you! I make up to $85h working from home. My story is that I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45h to $85h…heres a good example of what i'm doing, www.ucan3.Com

I hope Kris doesn't have children. When I see a parent having a hard time with a child in public I often put an arm around them and let them know we've all been there. Remember the story of Jesus and the children: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
