"Jesus, Friend Of Sinners". Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away. We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing. Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see. The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me. Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded. A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners. Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers. Let our hearts be led by mercy. Help us reach with open hearts and open doors. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours. Yeah... Jesus, friend of sinners, the one who's writing in the sand. Made the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands. Help us to remember we are all the least of these. Let the memory of Your mercy bring Your people to their knees. Nobody knows what we're for only what we're against when we judge the wounded. What if we put down our signs crossed over the lines and loved like You did. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners. Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers. Let our hearts be led by mercy. Help us reach with open hearts and open doors. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours. You love every lost cause; you reach for the outcast. For the leper and the lame; they're the reason that You came. Lord I was that lost cause and I was the outcast. But you died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet. 'Cause You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever. You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever. You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever. You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners. Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers. Let our hearts be led by mercy. Help us reach with open hearts and open doors. Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks Yours. And I was the lost cause and I was the outcast. Yeah... You died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell If you allow Jesus to take hold of the steering wheel of your life, then He is in charge. He is not only our Saviour, He is LORD of all!

Evan Hollon free will isn't biblical. That would mean that God isn't Sovereign. No where in the Bible does it say that he has given us free will. Adam didn't 'go against' God's will. God knew it would happen that way because God wrote ALL of history even before the beginning of time=)

Loretta Weichler Mitchell I think you are confusing Eastern Mysticism with Christianity. And what do you mean by "not fit the Christian description?" There is no such thing as a "Christian description". Salvation through Jesus Christ is for everyone, not just those who fit the description. Being a student/professor at U of Alberta you should know that there is a very large Christian population in both Vietnam and China. Please read the Bible and perhaps take a Religion class on Christianity, you may get a better understanding of what Christianity is all about.

Joyce Worman Asher God loves us so much that he has given us free will. I agree with Loretta. God didn't make us robots. This is why and how Adam was able to go against God's will and taste the forbidden fruit in Eden.

What a powerful message. We should not judge the "sinners" because we all sin everyday. Rather, than point fingers, point people in the right direction, and pray for each other.

Joyce Worman Asher God speaks to us, we just need to listen, and She/He/Holy Spirit speaks to us in many way, the Bible being one way. I recall that the times I have prayed, I have been given an answer and those answers did not come from the Bible. There are times that one has to listen to the spirit as the Bible is not always readily available, so you learn to listen. Unless you live in isolation and you can grow your own food, clothes, computer, house, community, etc., take note that the next time you go to Wal-Mart to purchase your goods notice where the goods are coming from. Likely from China or Vietnam. And guess what, not everyone in these countries fits the Christian description (statistically speaking). How does that fit with not being connected? You are connected whether you like it or not to the non-believer and the believer. What have you got to lose by getting to know the non-believers? More importantly what have you to gain? The world is full of beautiful individuals who are also seeking to know the truth and it is totally up to God to make the judgements that we humans place on each other. Your beingness on this planet is hugely important. Do not diminish the life you are here to experience. Loving our fellow human being is our greatest task to accomplish and judging whether an individual is a believer or a non-believer makes no difference. That is not your concern. Jesus says love your enemies as you love yourself.

I love you guys... you tug at my heart so. Don't preach. Write... sing... carry what you have been blessed to carry to them all... until the whole world hears. Don't stop.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell in regard to your query who, what is God. Just look at Jesus, His life, His words and the words of many witnesses, those who knew him. Then you will be in a good position to know who God is. You will also get a better understanding of who you are and what the future will be and how we are related to each other and to God - and that we need to fully respond to Jesus. There is no other way to God but through Jesus.
