Romans 8:28 ¶ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. John Lennon may not be called or even love God, but even his "Godless" song can be used for good. I can imagine some of the 'world' Lennon speaks of... it will be after Death and Hell are cast out and we live forever in God's light on a New Earth. Lennon had no idea his song could be conceived in this manner, but think about it. There will be no need of Heaven with God here with us, and Hell will have been cast out into the lake of fire. There will be no border, sin, sickness, death, war. Only peace and love. May not be the intent of the song, but let God be God and don't ever underestimate what He can do or what He can do that with.

My sincere congratulations to you mother and to your loving sons..

The lyrics is a prayer..that we may have the peace in this world. the peace our ancestors had in the garden of eden...because God have given us the power and authority to other living things but not to other humans...here in this song..the writer wants the inner peace for everyone..no greed..no hunger..

"Imagine there is no Heaven". As long as it feels good and tingles the emotions then it is ok? "You foolish Galatians!"

  • 2011-09-06T19:27:21

@Thea - Inspire people to what? Disbelief in God? So according to you if it tingles the emotions then it is ok.

Well, it was" inspirational", but I agree- isn't this GodTube? Where is the tribute to the God Who created him?

Dan, I had the same reaction. John Lennon's song's lyrics are God-less. Discerning Christians need to strike a balance between stories of love (such as this one) versus calling this an "example of Christian love." There was not one word in the intro, song, or after-song comments about Christ or the love He demonstrated. Our demonstrations of love to one anotherare to be a testimony of WHY we love: Because He first loved us. Thea, I'm sorry but you're wrong. A song inspiring people to see what life has to offer does not make the song "Christian." A good story, selfless love of an adoptive mother, courage to overcome obstacles, and an emotional performance? Yes. A demonstration of Christian love? Not by what I saw or heard. Maybe the Mom is a Christian, maybe the singer is too, but this TV segment was devoid of any mention of Christ. I find it "odd" that God Tube called this an "inspirational video." Encouraging and uplifting, perhaps. Inspirational from a Chirstian perspective, no.
