Rachel, I know how you're feeling. My husband and I are raising our grandson, who is now 16 months old. His mother, our daughter, is off doing her own thing, and suffers from bipolar and PTSD, and his dad is in prison for 5 more years. The only thing we can do is pray and do our best for the precious little ones God has placed into our care. ((((HUGS)))) to you and all who have taken on the responsibility of another person's child.

Very sad how could a dad do this to his child? I can't imagine not visiting my children and grandchildren.

I may be very confused, but didn't the young woman just put her own daughter in the same boat as she grew up in? I appreciate the fact that she did not have an abortion; however, I feel that she should have placed the baby up for adoption instead of holding the baby captive in the cycle of living "with the consequences" of a single mom. I feel passionate about adoption, because my daughter and her husband can not have children. So far they have adopted 2 beautiful children. Both my daughter and my son-in-law have acknowledged- it takes BOTH husband and wife to rear a child in the best ways that Heavenly Father intended! Adoption is the true act of unselfish LOVE of Christ, not holding on to a child to fill the void in one self!

Always remember - God uses all things to work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. your testimony may just be the words someone else needs to hear in order to trust God with the burdens of their life. Satan would have us ashamed and under lifelong condemnation over our mistakes - but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! When we realize our mistakes/sins - we must be quick to bring them before the Lord, confessing them as sin, repenting, asking God to forgive us and forgiving ourselves. Release it to God and walk in His love and forgiveness. the joy of being able to release the self-condemnation will allow you to walk forward in the Lord's victory.

God bless you Rachel, forgiveness is the key to all God has for you. Love and Peace through what this sweet little girl has to offer you, not the other way around. Make sure to cherish every moment, even when your tired, one day she may not be there to love on and then it's too late. Hugs

A beautiful song with a strong message. I have look after children who have been put on side while parents go off on some tangent or try to sort their stuff out, or the children are place in care because they don't know how to love themselves left alone their own offspring. This song reminded me of all the children that don't have that love in their lives and their parents wherever they be. When a Child comes into my care I know that with my Lord and Savior in my life showing me what Love is truly about I cannot begin to love, care, or heal this child or pray for the parents without judgement in my heart towards them. An absent father to me is better than an abusive, angry, hitting father who only knew that showing love is to hit and hurt his son. I Thank GOD the Father in Heaven for showing me a better way.

I came out of an abusive family, into an abusive marriage. Now, I'm happily married and my child will always have good birthdays! God is an amazing Parent, He loves those have no love from their biological parents. Only through His love can I let my parents go. I had to realize that they don't love me and that there are some things that I cannot change. I can only move forward in the direction that God is leading me and cherish all of those who are in my life.

Thank you so much Angela, yes I remember the hard times for you, but I also saw that sweet little girl you were. I loved you Angela, and if I made even a little difference in your life, I thank God and give him the glory. You are as sweet now as you were then! God Bless!
