Unbelievable Story - Woman Attempts Suicide Went to Hell, Then To Heaven and Survived

Chris Newbern, you seem to place a lot of emphasis on seeking true doctrine and rethinking what we believe, but so far I haven't seen a clear statement of what YOU believe. Your use of questions reminds me a lot of Rob Bell; have you been reading his work? And what exactly do you believe concerning hell? (With Scriptural support of course)

She does not have a scar from the bullet wound. If she really did shot near her heart they would have to make larger scar to the chest depending on how far the bullet went.

I don't believe Chris is following this anymore and for obvious reasons. I do support what he said. "To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8 "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" Hebrews 9:27. Biblically, we as believers, die and go straight to be with the Lord. Non-believers are to be judged and THEN cast into the lake of fire. When you die, you die and go to one of two places. There have been some mentions about purgatory, there is nothing to support it in the Bible. I think a lot can be learned from learned from Jesus' parable in Luke 16:19-31. Once you got to hell, that's it. Personally, like pastor Chris, I believe this woman, as genuine as she is, more than likely did have a vision. There is a lot a person can witness in the unconscious state and she already had the forethought about God, death and possible consequences thereafter. Perhaps God played a roll in her surviving, but I really can't believe that she, or anyone else, went to hell and came back.

I think you're all being to hard on Chris Newbern! He gave his thoughts from a Christian and biblical perspective. He wasn't judging. One of the many things that is unfortunate about facebook and postings on the internet is you can't see the facial expressions or hear the tones in a persons speech. Thus rendering someone's post to be misinterpreted. I think that is the case here. And he was attacked, by Christians.

My brothers and sisters...please just remember with God all things are possible. She got a second chance on life. And we all know God is mercifull...so please Stop looking for faults my goodness! God saved her and it was a day of rejoicing in heaven when this transpired. Stop criticising and Praise and honor and glorify God in this.

this makes you want to live for Christ, and not go to that place, that is the main message of this.

According to CBN, and a local Christian radio station, she shot herself. As to the validity of the rest of it, only God and that lady know for sure what the entire truth is? NOTHING is impossible with God! HE is bigger than a bullet wound, bigger than her depression, and bigger than every opinion posted here! I thank God that her story may help a non-believer in some way. As for folks going to hell or Heaven and coming back? The apostle Paul did it, and said he could not even tell of some of what he saw! We would probably be standing in line, to leap off of the tallest buildings if God were to show a finite mind the treasures of Heaven.

Chris Newbern - I am no scholar, nor do I claim any kind of 'special insight' into these mysterious "out of body experiences". Having said that, we do read in scripture, where the apostle Paul was shown a 'glimpse' of Heaven, after God sent a messenger of satan to 'buffet' him? 'Perhaps'..... this woman had led such a life, where she was so far into a state of depression, without treatment, where she literally believed her only option, was to die in order to escape the torment she 'thought' was worse than ANYTHING? Gods' Grace 'IS' Amazing, His Mercy rejoices against judgement, and she was given a 2nd chance? Again, I make no scriptural case here. I did some research, wanting to make sure it actually happened,(She really shot herself), the limited sources I have, say YES, it's true. We as Believers (At least most believers I know) believe we will get new bodies after death, and I would think, in order to be able to withstand an eternity of flames and torment, one would have to be given some type of 'transformed', or new body as well? The fact that she is alive, speaks volumes to me, because the Bible is quite clear it is appointed unto man 1 time to die, and then the judgement. To be absent from the body, is to be present with Jesus Christ. So even a book like 90 minutes in Heaven, which has comforted untold numbers of folks who have lost SAVED loved ones, has to be taken as one mans' experience, and clearly, neither him, nor this lady, were at 'their' appointed time. I see these type of scenarios, and it is as you say Pastor Newbern, Gods' Word , which HE Himself esteemed or honored even above His own name, must be our refuge, our instruction manual, our everything! Yet whether these folks were in a state of 'shock', had a God sent dream, or actually went to where they say, it's hard to deny that 'SOMETHING' very real to them , HAPPENED.

Chris I think God may have reached into hell for her because she was not yet dead her eternity had not yet started and I believe God blessed her extremely buy showing her what was possible to come.

  • 2011-11-22T06:57:38

wow.. really God works in amazin ways.. If he has not yet been saved, i am sure that God will bring him to the light soon. God is compassionate. Since u have prayed for ur husband, God will make a way to bring him to the truth. He has done it in my life for my loved ones.. he will surely do it for u.

Its not that she went to hell actually. God gave her the understanding of hell and heaven. He made her understand that hell would have been the result if she would really have died that day. and then God gave her hope of heaven so that she could change and come out of the life she was leading and also so that she could help others who r facing similar problems.

For me, her story is a dream after she shot herself. She is given a chance to live again and what is important right now is her faith to Jesus Christ.

a man who had a vision of hell and gives many verses from the Word of God about hell, that helped him believe what he experienced wasn't perhaps a hallucination, but that what he experienced is biblical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv8pLUMDVRc

that's an answer to br. Chris.

  • 2011-11-16T23:11:03

I think you re missining the point. The point is that hell is as real as heaven. And every efort or experience of someone that sends the message to the people to fear God is welcomed and praised. Dont consume your time with the details of those realities.

What you just said shows a lack of faith. We have to believe God is real through faith because we cannot see Him so would you say I don't believe God is real unless I can see evidence of those wounds in his wrist and feet? God works in peoples lives however he needs to so they can spend eternity with him. He is only bound by his word because his word never waivers but he can do whatever he wants to get his children to stop being hardheaded and see that he loves them.
