This guy only represents a very tiny fraction of Muslims who think like this. I was born and raised in a Muslim country, know its culture and familiar with its practices, and hold many Muslim friends, worldwide, as close and dear friends, and even family. But I am not a Muslim. I see this guy on the TV and he is not a Muslim, certainly not the ones I know. The agenda here is clearly more political than about a true spiritual war of faiths. To build its political and economic power base, it taps into the despair and anger of Arabs for the atrocities committed by the US and it's allies in that part of the world. No one side is right, but that is the reason for this anger and hatred. I don't agree with what he says, or anyone who shares his beliefs, but I have to say I can understand how a rational man, Muslim or otherwise, can adopt such extreme and murderous thoughts. If your families and homes were bombed by foreign missiles, even by mistake - every single soul you loved wiped out, your life as you know it gone forever, and there many of you experiencing this - dispossessed, angry, disconsolate, lost. It's not a stretch to want to form a resistance and in some cases, adopt ideologies that are far more radical than you'd normally accept if only your life wasn't wrenched away from you. Ideologies that will preach vengeance. Mix that with a sense of struggle, liberation, a fight for independence, and it practically legitimises the act of murder, in the eyes of the new recruit. Again, I am not saying he is right, or anyone for that matter. But if we continue to demonise Muslims, they've won. You have to understand - they WANT a fight. They want the world to burn. They want you to hate and persecute other Muslims in your own countries so others may join their ranks. They want foreign armies to occupy Muslim lands so they can recruit the outraged. And if this continues, they will achieve their goal.
