Stunning Performance of How Great Thou Art by Wynonna Judd

I'd like to comment on Susan Coomber's message...seeing that you composed your comment at 2:13 am I have a feeling that you were searching for some answers and this rendition of How Great Thou Art by Wynonna Judd was so inspiring and soulful... your Santa Rosa, CA state of mind was unable to comprehend the true beauty of Wynonna's Alto (perfect ptich) voice. If you are troubled by the tempo that was selected... you should have chosen and instrumental version... then you could tap you feet... make up your own words... then the impact of this beautiful arragenment wouldn't have touched your soul. The tempo is a beautiful, respectful and humble way of praising our Heavenly Father. It's sad that you can find fault with someone singing to the Lord and sharing it with us.

Absolutely Beautiful! So many singers "rush" the song. It is so nice to be able to listen to it and truly treasure the true meaning. Beautiful!

Magdolna Flewitt - YOu're close, darlin' three persons in one God. Jesus is one of those persons. That is what the Bible SAYS

  • 2013-08-31T22:54:02

And He says that the FAther has given Him rule over all dominion. ARe you reading all of it or just what confirms your thinking? Jesus IS God......but that's not the end of the information; you have to go further to get the fullness of the faith

Do you mean you don't believe that God and Jesus are distinct Persons, Magdolna? No, you must be being misunderstood. How many times does Jesus refer to, speak to, pray to, praise, and make holy supplication to the Father? Like, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do" and "Father? Father? Why hast thou forsaken Me?" And in the very first paragragh of the Bible, God refers to Himself as "WE" God is three distinct Persons in communion with one another. You get that, right? YOu're named for my favorite woman in the Bible (next to Mary, of course) Mary Magdalene! There is only one God; and He is a "we" - three distinct persons in one God. And may He bless you today!!

If this is the best you have ever heard, you need to get out more. This is one of the worse I have ever heard. Listen to Carrie Underwood's duet with Vince Gill. That is a pretty powerful performance that is straight from the heart that one can tell it is not just a song to them, it is something they truly believe.

Rhonda Archer The trinity is so difficult for we mere humans to understand. Many will have to have more extraordinary faith than others until they get to heaven for God to explain it. That is part of the faith we have to exhibit to believe in the death, burial and resurrection as the propitiation for our sins to get us to heaven. There are many mysteries in the Bible that we will truly never understand until we get to heaven, but that will give us something to do once we get there. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit the trinity. If you don't understand it, joint the club, have faith, read your Bible, find someone who can help you understand it who has been studying it longer; and pray to ask God to give you more understanding or faith to believe it until he gathers those of us who do have faith to believe.

Lisa A Notter yes, but if you just sit around waiting for God to do something, nothing will ever happen. I don't know anything about christianmingle, but you would have to find someone with the same definition of "christian" as you. The term is used so loosely these days, it could mean anything to anybody. There is this story that I think is appropriate: there was this man who was sitting in his house while the floods were coming and he kept waiting knowing that God would save him. One guy in a boat came by while the floods just covered the roads and sidewalks and he declined the guys help knowing God would save him. Then when the floods were so high there was just enough room for him to keep his head above water inside the house he decided to go on the roof. The coast guard helicopter came by and tried to get him to come with them, but he told them God would save him. So, once he got to heaven he asked God why he didn't save him, God said "What about the guy in the boat, and the guys in the helicopter I sent?" Maybe you can take this to heart and put action to your prayers.

Stunning? Stunningly awful! Is she trying to be a Bass? Is she trying drag the song along? This is one of her worse performances. She is doing the song and God a disservice.

Rhonda - not forsaken his own person. Not praying to himself. God is one being in 3 persons. Jesus is not the Father nor the Holy Spirit, but all 3 are one God. There is no contradiction between the doctrine of who God is and Jesus praying to the Father. There is relationship between the 3 persons in the Trinity. Yes, we've all heard that the word Trinity is not found in the Bible. It comes down to believing what your Bible teaches about God. It emphatically and repeatedly teaches that there is one and only one true God. It also shows that Jesus is God and that the Holy Spirit is also God. While we cannot fully comprehend in what manner the 3 persons are all one being called God, we simply try to have the humility to believe what the Bible teaches even in areas where we can't fully comprehend it. This is especially important regarding what God has taught us about Himself in His Word.

Our feeble minds cannot comprehend the Trinity. Stop trying to analyze it & just accept it!!
