They forgot the one I always use...son of a biscuit! I used to be a cussing sinner, now I'm a dork sounding christian sinner. Atleast I can laugh about it, and now I'm saved! Keep the cheesy sounding lingo going everyone at my church does it. LOL! Til the whole world speaks cheese! God bless!

I found that whole video offensive.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the point was to be more Seinfeldian. You know, Seinfeld never really told jokes; he just made commentaries about everyday stuff that we took for granted that when we remove context and just shine a spotlight on the specifics, just the shining the spotlight was amusing because we found our world being more quirky than we actually realized. This is, I believe, the case with this video. It's not putting down the language we use so much as pointing out that the language we tend to take for granted, when removed from context, is actually a little quirky, especially when listened to by people who may not fully understand what we are saying and why we are saying them, and therein is the amusement.

They're just being typical Christians. Failing to make and progress in the Kingdom because they get offended so easily.

Paul said be a Jew to the Jew, and a Gentile to the Gentile. -1 Corinth 9:20. so around non-believers, we must speak in non-believer terminology.

You haven't been teaching them to communicate to the word the truths of the gospel already?

  • 2012-12-04T16:10:19

I agree, I wonder if this was performed in a sense of mocking rather than hey this would be funny for Christians. We need to get a grip, have the old men teach the young before there is even more irreparable damage done that see's us armed with feather dusters.

I found it more profound than a mere comedy sketch, we really have lost our way that this is satire at its most stinging. If you laugh and don't see what the message is, which is perhaps unintentional then your missing it in my opinion. We talk this different lingo and our usefulness to communicate the message of the cross gets blunter and blunter.
