Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning 9/11 Tribute

I was at work. The lady behind me left in a hurry when we were told about the Pentagon. Her sons office was in the middle of the section where the plane hit. She called after lunch to let us all know her sonm was safe, his commanding officer had sent him to another section to work that day.

I lived in Irving, Tx at the time, it was a beautiful morning, and I'd opened the windows and started 'fall cleaning' the house. I did not even turn on the tv that morning, which was extremely unusual for me. My niece called me at 11 am and asked how I was feeling about all of what had happened, but I was completely clueless, until she said "Aunt Donna, our country is under attack." I remember how stunned I felt, after I'd finally seen the news. The schools closed early , so I picked up my daughter from middle school - I clearly remember driving through town, to find no traffic on the streets, none. It was eerily quiet, as people had gone home to watch the news. Later that evening we went to WalMart just to get out of the house, and the mood was solem. No one was really shopping, just watching news reports on the screens. September 11 is a day none of us will ever forget, and what we can do is always pray for God's will to be done in all things - hard as it is to want our way - pray for God's protection, and His justice.

I was watching TV in my basement getting ready to go to school, I was in my senior year of high school and had just two weeks prior found out that I was pregnant. My first thought when I saw the news was "what kind of world will I be bringing this baby into?" Good news -I graduated a month before my beautiful healthy son was born, bad news-the world has only gotten worse. Pray for our children and what they may have to endure during their lifetime.

My heart still hurts every time I remember that horrible day! I was getting ready for work and as I watched the news it didn't felt real.

THIS DAY WILL NEVER BE FOR GOTTEN AND FOR ALL OF THOSE THAT LOST THERE LOVED ONES THREW THIS HORRIBLE DAY.I AM SPEECHLESS AND ILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THE LOST, AND FOR YOU THAT GOD GIVES YOU INNER PEACE.AND SALVATION.GOD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL, AND GIVE US GRACE, AND UNDERSTANDING..THAT YOUR WILL BE DONE NOT WHAT WE WANT BUT WHAT YOU WANT....LOVE YOU ALL THREW JESUS CHRIST.MAY HIS HANDS STAY UPON US AND KEEP US SAFE..THREW HIS BLOOD, AND HIS LOVE..AMEN.

I remember where I was- In the TV lounge at the Command Building of Naval Submarine School, SUBASE NLON, Groton, CT. Let's keep praying for our nation, our military, those most closely impacted by this tragedy.

Never forget...

As we reflect on this day, let's pray for the people that lost their loved ones.

Jared was 2. He was on his first solo vacation with Gram-Mas and Paps houses in PA. Todd's parents were supposed to take him to camp in Somerset, PA that day for Gram-Ma's birthday. Pap got held up and they were running late, thank God. <3
