Kitty and Baby Cuddle SO Sweetly Together - Double the Cuteness!

  • 2013-05-09T16:54:50

I wonder if the animal had been a puppy people would have commented so negatively about this video. Not saying that it is or isn't healthy, but just wondered if cats are supposed to be more dangerous than dogs. It was cute but towards the end it looked like the baby was starting not to like it too much. That said, I also do think that now a days "they" say "everything" is unhealthy. Who knows.

This is so beautiful, so cute! Praise Jesus for His amazing creation! I love cats so much!

  • 2013-05-09T16:26:35

Really people, this was probably a one time thing and the parents were obviously right there. The kitten is very young and probably never been outside. the kitten was just tryig to get the baby to pet it as all cats do. Also cats are very clean about themselves. Granted , I agree I would not allow it again but as a one time thing it was very cute

Not very healthy for baby. The cat hair can cause some serious allergy. It is cute but not sanitary or healthy.

I'm going to add a different slant to the criticism here. What redemptive value or evangelistic possibilities did this video have?

  • 2013-05-09T15:21:11

I don't get it. Are you a healthcare professional or a bi-vocational pastor? I certainly respect your opinion but it seems you are EXTREMELY critical here, having posted multiple times. We get it, you disagree with the video. But I would have thought more importantly as a church leader and hopefully a Christ Follower, that perhaps Jesus provided you the same discernment you are trying to indicate to others, to be an example to Jesus, especially in a community setting such as this with a site that is trying to be a light to our Father. Your posts don't emulate anything about Jesus's love and as 1 Corinthians 13 is so eloquently paraphrased by Eugene Patterson: If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love... Your posts are giving the appearance of a rusty gate and perhaps a hint of bankruptcy....

The baby is not happy¡¡¡ it vould be dangerous for his health¡¡¡.

  • 2013-05-09T15:16:56

Amen to that Christopher. I thought about the hair in the mouth and noticed a time or two that I thought the baby was about to sneeze, but you are right, the Lord takes care of instances such as this that gives so much joy. God Bless You for your service time.

I was raised around animals of all kinds, I'd bring home sick animals, even a baby skunk, but I don't think it's a good idea for a baby to get cat hair in his mouth. If they use a litter box their feet carry germs from the cat box I have a cat and he turns on me if I get after him. Not all cats are docile and doesn't take much for them to bite and run. My one brother was sick for a month or more when he got cat scratch fever and ended up with a cyst under his arm.........Also if people have pets like turtles, lizards, snakes make sure you wash before touching your babies, few yrs ago a baby only 2 wks old died because the parents didn't think about thier baby could get Salmonella. Just use some common sense everyone.

Shake them?.....I think I would reason with them and then pray for them. Hmmmmm

sure its important to take care for the baby--but that's may be a friendship for many many years--GODS CREATION IN LOVE AND PEACE.

Although I'm sure the parents thought this was harmless, I've been bitten by cats way too many times to think this is a good idea. The baby turns his face toward the cat as a stimulus to nursing. The cat was holding the baby's arm to pull his head against the cat. This very easily could have turned into a dangerous situation. Cats are hunters and it is inborn to pounce and bite. Irresponsible on the part of the parents and I'm surprised that God Tube didn't think about this choice for the video. Sorry, but not wise!

Coming from a family of animal lovers and owners, though this is cute I would not allow it. I've never shooed our animals away from our children when they were babies, rather allowing a minimal interraction to appease the curiosity of our dog or cat. I've never, nor would I recommend allowing such a prolonged face-to-face interaction. The hair, dandruff, etc at that young age is a concern, albeit a minor one. The major concern is when this cute kitty decides to kick it up a notch and get playful. Playing for cats/kittens/dogs usually involves mouthing, even hard biting at times. This is the dangerous part for the baby in my opinion. How quick can you react when the kitty get's playful and bites the baby on the face? In the end, this is an animal. I don't care how tame or domesticated they are, their primal instincts still govern how they behave overall. As someone mentioned before, this is more of a scent marking than a cuddling.

It is a proven fact that babies and children raised with dogs and cats have less allergies than children that have not been exposed to them. I dare say this baby will have no allergies as it grows up. I also suggest that they never leave baby unattended with animals EVER.

  • 2013-05-09T13:32:14

As a healthcare profession, this is concerning. The baby has little to no immune system in the beginning. That is why they have to have so many vaccination shots when they're first born - to protect them from very very dangerous diseases that a baby cannot fight off. But these shots are not for disease that cats come in contact with when outside. MRSA is the biggest one from scratches. MRSA CAN KILL YOU! Therefore if there is any diseases or bacteria or infection that lives with this cat, this baby will contract it. The very old and the very young are at risk for contracting diseases because of their fragile immune system. Allergies are developed also because of the child's inability to fight off of allergies without a strong immune system. Then we wonder why our some of our children are allergic to cats. That is why we should be very careful with the very young and the very old. Have a blessed day in Christ.

Thanks Hildegunn, finally a positive comment. I agree with you. My mom was a clean freak, never allowing me to have a dog or cat - in or out of the house. Yet, I have allergies. However, my cousins that had all sorts of pets, including chickens and live stock are perfectly fine and don't suffer from any allergies. Is it just a coincidence? I don't think so.
