Police Officer Sings I Can Only Imagine at Funeral of Officer Killed in the Line of Duty

Having been in Law Enforcement since 1969. I have shared many joys and many griefs relating to the special kind of people who often put their life on the line to fulfil the oath they take to serve with the badge they are given. I'm sure we all have the words to this song in the back of our minds. It was a privilege to stand beside them.for so many years. I was one of the fortunate ones who retired 10 yrs ago at age 72 yoa. I continue to pray daily for those great guys & gals who continue to carry the banner to serve and protect.

Danita is that your faith tradition or is that your personal belief? A time to lighten the hearts of the suffering is a joy and a pleasure for us at these times. To sing like this at such a time, when many can't bring themselves to even speak takes a special soul.

I was there (front row to the left of Tim) to speak and assist Emily and the family. Life's honor. I asked Emily what she wanted me to say to the assembled officers and she told me to preach the truth as Chris wanted me to to -- that it is ONLY by repenting of our sin and entering into a life-saving/life-changing relationship with God in Christ that we can gain entrance to heaven. Chris had such a relationship -- looking forward to seeing him again.

And that is EXACTLY what I do Felicia at the musical outreach ministries I Direct or assist in managing here in greater Philadelphia, PA area! We are not open to ENTERTAIN people (though the musicians God brings us certainly are wonderful to listen too) but rather we are here to minister, make sure people KNOW that they need to receive Jesus, and embrace (unify) with those who are in the today. even if holding slightly different doctrinal beliefs. The most important thing is sharing the Gospel and the Love of Jesus as He is the only one who can save mankind and turn our mourning into dancing.

Hope I'm not butting in, I am not a friend of anyone here....I am a retired Houston Police Officer. In 28 years of service there were 31 of my Brothers and Sisters killed in the line of duty. Oh by the way, that was just our department. So many lives tragically taken. For one, it was my hope and faith in that very imagination that saw me through. Thanks for sharing this post. God's Speed to those left behind and God's love to those who do not understand.

This is the kind of man we should entrust our lives to, and feel safe under the protection of. This man is a Christian, a patriot, and a Man of Honor. As is stated in the movie "Courageous," "Where are you Men of Courage?"
