Thrift Shop - Christian Remix (FUNNY!)

Yes! It was meant to be a parody, don't you see? It is obviously making fun of the 'religious' people who THINK they are all that! Most of our nation's churches are full of them, wouldn't you agree? These fellas totally get it - it's not about looking incredible or singing solos or how long the sermon is or how well you're dressed or even if you are in church every time the doors are open. It's about a relationship with Christ, period. If people begin there, then they'll never become superficial like the folks described in the video.

Nice. Lots of people getting mixed up about the message, but I thought it was funny. Seemed to me that the whole intent was to have fun and hopefully generate a laugh or two. The original song this is a parody of is pretty vulgar, and I think the guys in the video, who all look to be in high school, maybe in college, did a great job of keeping it clean.

Great song and video. Now with the utmost respect I'm going to say that it seems that the older generation is a great example of their old school religion concept of "how can I find fault in this" as their the ones that don't like it. I doubt they know the song that is one is made from so they just don't get it....

I LIKE it!!! haha

A Bible is just a book with words and instructions, that tell you how to act,. Don't get caught up in the material, it's the your actions and the Christian that evolves from the instructions that come from the Bible that matter, not the physical book itself. Plus the dude meant no disrespect, its not like he chunked it against the wall, as if to make a statement.

For real; why's everyone straight bashing this video? I thought it was creative, entertaining, clean, positive, and fun. I highly doubt their intent was to "make fun of Christianity" especially with how much time and energy went into making this video. Also, why judge them? Just be positive and have an outlook of "these guys had fun and did something good".

WOW... I certainly have a better understanding of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything". The video is NOT mocking Christianity but perhaps pointing out how a few Christians act, especially those that get into service and then have an attitude. All too often we rush to judgement about something and miss the greater point. But perhaps Matthew 7:1-2 applies here "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you." And sometimes not saying something critical can be just as glorifying to our Father as pointing out something critical and bringing an unfavorable light to yourself. It's no wonder why many unbelievers, aetheists and agnostics look at Christians in question and in many cases call us hypocrites. Even Ghandi said "I like your Christ but I do not love your Christians, they are so unlike your Christ"

I think you're missing the entire point.. How many "Christians' have that very atttiude "I'm all that", especially those that often serve within the church, yet their walk is anything but... Just relax and enjoy the humor for what it is so you aren't in violation of Matthew 7:1 yourself...

Like the rich man in Matthew 19 he knew that there was more to getting in to heaven then just doing good works anybody can act holy but in the end the rich man was sad when Jesus told him to sell his possession and follow him that's the hitch there we are all to often hooked on things computers , TV's , Game's such as PS3's,Xboxes and Nintendo wii's there all just things what good do they do us in the Glorious kingdom of GOD . there are a lot of Sunday saints and Monday sinners out in the world that think that by going to church giving there 10 percent doing the Christian thing is going to get them to heaven but its not

I respect your opinions about the video not seeming to honor or glorify God. However it appears to me that the creators of the video had a different intent: To use comedy to help us realize how superficial and prideful it is for us to act "holier than thou" or try to EARN salvation by doing lots of "religious" things. Once we realize how wrong this self-righteous attitude is, we will hopefully choose a RELATIONSHIP with the Lord over foolishly trying to become "holy" through the works that we do.

Awesome! Such a hilarious parody that shows us that the youth of today can see right through the 'acts' of today's so-very-religious Pharisees. :)

Sorry, didn't see this as giving Glory to God, it seemed more like making fun of Christianity.

  • 2013-04-10T02:34:58

he shouldn't have thrown the bibles......

  • 2013-04-10T02:26:31

Sorry, didn't like it. Seemed like it was made in fun but.... it didn't honor or glorify God and seemed to be centered around salvation by works instead of Jesus' saving grace. All the I'm this, I'm that, I look incredible... I would have enjoyed it more if it had been about Jesus' awesomeness, how incredible he is, and what he has done for us. Sorry, guys
