Murray Hiltz OK maybe not the best chose but it doesn't always have to be Giving God the Glory in song. He is Giving God The Glory by Being A Good Father, it's really no a big deal maybe they should sing Doh a deer now that would be lame; I'm a gospel Singer and I love The Lord I don't always sing Gospel I mean how boring it would be if that was the case.I have a friend a church that only listens to gospel and she is miserable a little Stevie wonder a little Doug and the slugs a lot of Frank Sinatra keeps it real and fresh.

13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." 1 Peter 1:13-16 (NKJV) I am sure that our Holy God would not want us to immerse His children in "Un"Holy music.

Sharlini... it is interesting that you think that a Holy God would use a Unholy song to connect with His kids..

And be ye separate - Separate from the world, and all its corrupting influences.

Quality time?... Wouldn't singing a song that brings God honor and glory be a better way of having quality time?

It's a dad enjoying time with his kids. What is wrong with that? Personally I don't like the song, but not because of the lyrics...I don't even think the kids will get what the lyrics mean. I didn't growing up on classic rock. I grew up on classic rock and still listen to it. I listen to christian as well, but I won't go to hell because I listen to Journey or Reo Speedwagon. Stop judging...really

Justin Byrd you are right God for sure loves this family and the people who wrote the song, but He also tells us, "be Holy as I am Holy" and this means being set apart for His purpose. If we are to "love like Christ loved" as you say, that means laying down our life for others, right? So we are responsible to be something this world has never seen before to represent Christ so that others can have the chance to know Him. I think its way more cool for a dad to show His children how to please God in everything he does in his life.

Judge yes not lest yes be judged.

Wardell, Thank you for enlightening me on this song. I really didn't know what it was about. I think what the children will carry away from this experience with their dad, however, is that he was engaged with them and delights in them, like our Heavenly father. I lived in my parent's home until I was 21. My dad probably spent no more than 5 minutes total in time with me. I grew up feeling invisible and worthless. I don't think these children will carry that wound at least. I appreciate your passion for God.

And of course there is no killing in the Bible right? From the best I can tell it's a song about a man who kills another man and then feels so bad about it he is contemplating suicide or possibly he is going to be executed. Either way it portrays killing as a bad thing and makes it clear that there are consequences for killing. What is ungodly about that? When rap music is talking about abusing women and killing as a way of life with no remorse I think maybe some of you are barking up the wrong tree.

Words do matter. For they were 'singing' in the car and not just listening to the music. Quality time is important - so is quality of content! Songs are words 'spoken' with music. So whether you mean what you say or not - those words being spoken are still effecting your spirit and the atmosphere around you. Psalm 19:14 Proverbs 18:21 Ephesians 5:19 John 6:63 Psalm 34:13 Psalm 35:28 Proverbs 17:4 Colossians 3:16
