The Godly Truth About Bikinis - FINALLY Someone Gets It!

  • 2014-08-27T15:40:11

I really enjoyed your video and think you made a lot of sense. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the hater's comments. Many people just try and disagree to play devil's advocate. You did a great job and I agree with most that you said. You did a very well job explaining, answering, and made things easier to understand and less likely to get offended. Kepp doing what your doing and by doing that you are not only following your dream and passion, but also making the world a better place...even if its just a few ppl at a time!

Catherine Johnson you did not do your research like you said you did. In the study, 20 photos were used in each type, and in ALL of the photos (the modestly dressed women, and the bikini clad women) the bodies were cropped a little but were still showing the smiling face. The men responded in a respectful way to the women's bodies who were dressed modestly, but their brains changed significantly when shown the bikini bodies--they were not perceived as sexy women, they were perceived as OBJECTS. The modestly dressed women were perceived as women with emotions and feelings. Here is exactly what the study says about photos used: Stimuli: We collected 20 images per stimulus class (sexualized female, clothed female) All of the images were uniform such that targets were smiling, and gazing directly at the camera. We cropped the images (from mid-thigh to top of head), standardized their sizes (380x450 pixels), and eliminated all background information. We also altered images to minimize detail in whatever clothing targets were wearing. For the details of the actual study, go here: ps about the naked natives in NatGeo, those cultures are highly sexualized, having sex at very young ages, with the women as young as 12 getting pregnant. Also, though they are not classified as porn mags. And many guys will tell you that kept those copies hidden under their mattress then they were reaching puberty.

Tim Buckle, You are mistaken about tribal culture. Read this article describing the dangers that women face in the amazon. It's a woman's husband or male protector that keep other men at bay. Without a protector woman are, in fact, raped, contrary to your statement.

The main thing I get out of the comments for this video is judgement. So many "Christians" judging. Now first, one of the things I cannot stand for is a Christian who should know better, judging someone. I know some girls do wear skimpy clothing for attention, but not all, some who are comfortable in their bodies simply do it because it's hot outside and it's cooler, or they want a tan without crazy tan lines. Sometimes it's very innocent. I myself am WAY too modest to where a bikini, but that doesn't mean I'm going to look at every girl in a bikini as some sort of slut, whore and seductress who is trying to steal mens souls through temptation and all Men as crazy rapists who can't keep their thoughts and feelings on anything but sex. Worry about yourself. To prove my point, Ms. Jessica Rey actually sells this on her website for her swimwear line. That looks an awful lot like a bikini bottom to me. Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:41 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? John 8:7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Roy Holaday "You may dress as you like , just know what men think of you when you dress like a lady of the night and be prepared for their actions ." - that sounds like your saying if a girl gets raped she was "asking for it" because she was dressed a certain way.

Rob Osterlund Little boys will be little boys. Girl and Boys will be curious about the opposite sex regardless of what is out there. The idea that we ever had to cover up in the first place was put into our heads by PEOPLE...these "rules" about how to dress weren't put into place as soon as we were created. We are the only animal that wears clothing. If I go into a business and am told I have to dress a certain way to be there, fine. However, what I wear can never please everyone so I will wear what I want and if it offends you I really don't care. I don't dress for society, I don't even dress for my significant other - I dress in what I feel comfortable in.

Roy Holaday You may dress as you like , just know what men think of you when you dress like a lady of the night and be prepared for their actions" and As the presentation stated , the medical evidence proves that men view women who dress provocatively as inanimate objects . End of story ." That presentation, nor the "evidence" presented proved any thing conclusive. As with all science and all research, the only thing that this presentation did was present ONE side of the spectrum, so no, no no....I'd say it is not the end of the story :) Personally, I am a Christian woman who wears a bikini, so I watched this presentation to gather more perspective, but it did NOT sell me on anything except, as will all of life, "everything in moderation"

Jennifer Beach-Batten , when it's 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity in Mexico, a bikini is way more comfortable than a one-piece. For the record there were a few other women in bikinis and I managed to control myself and my thoughts. Did I look? Men look once, but twice...that's oogling.

Why is the lesson to be learned here that girls need to be modest as opposed to that boys need to be taught not to view women as objects or tools? I don't even wear bikinis, but that's my personal choice. I understand that some bikinis that are more string than material are a bit far fetched. But it really is a girl's choice whether she wants to wear a bikini and they do offer a bit more freedom and movement. Why are girls being blamed for the way boys view them? Why will no one take the step to say, "Maybe we need to teach our sons how to respect women's bodies"?
