The 2 Detty Sisters Sing 'Mary Did You Know' Christmas Hymn

The Detty Sisters move us with this angelic rendition of ‘Mary Did You Know?’ for Christmas.

It took over 7 years for singer-songwriter Mark Lowry to perfect the lyrics to this song. The idea came to Lowry when he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell and he started thinking about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him. He wondered how she must have felt when the angel told her she would birth a child of God. Then, he put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics we all know and love today.

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’

The Detty Sisters are comprised of four country siblings from southern Ohio. Peyton, Cadie, Lily and Sophia have all been singing worship songs since a very young age. Today, the two oldest sisters are helping us remember the real reason for the season with this beautiful rendition of ‘Mary Did You Know?’

‘Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am’

Luke 1:30-31 “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.”
