Emotional Dog Reacts To Mufasa's Death In The Lion King

Anyone who has ever seen “The Lion King” knows the heartbreaking scene of Mufasa’s death and how it brings people to tears. And apparently, the scene also has an effect on emotional dogs!

Luna, a four-month old puppy living in Tennessee, is clearly upset while watching Simba discover that his father has died. It is like Luna is putting herself in Simba’s shoes and going through all the emotions that he would be having. Talk about an empathetic dog!

The powerful scene of Simba begging Mufasa to get up after being trampled by a wildebeest stampede has Luna whimpering and distressed. She keeps nervously repositioning herself on the couch as she attentively watches the scene unfold. Her toys that she was playing with before mean nothing to her any more as she is engrossed by the tragic scene on the screen

Seeing this sensitive pup react to what she is watching on the TV will pull at anyone’s heart strings! And her owner, Josh Myers, was stunned to see the empathy that Luna was displaying. He explains just how touched he was by this sight when he started recording this video.

"To see her crying at the TV was the sweetest thing I think I’ve ever seen," says Myers. "She even lays down right after Simba lays with his dad."

What is also sweet about this story is Luna’s backstory. She was born to a pregnant, homeless pit bull who gave birth to 12 puppies at a foster home. Thankfully, the mother and the puppies ended up being adopted, and Luna found a home with her new owners.

I’m sure that Luna was able to get all the hugs and kisses from her owners after this scene to help her get over the tragedy of Mufasa’s death. What a sweet and caring dog!
