It was a moment that had everyone in tears when this miracle man earned the golden buzzer for his Elvis audition on Ireland’s Got Talent. There was a time not too long ago that Barry Darcy wondered if he would ever sing or walk again. After suffering from a herniated disc, Barry awoke one day and fell flat on the floor. He did not have control of his legs. "I was paralysed from the waist down. They gave me a fifty-fifty chance of ever walking again, and I took it.”

Now, Barry is standing on stage with confidence and the full support of his family as he follows his dreams. Just listen as he belts out the words to the famous Elvis Presley song 'The Wonder of You.'

Barry’s incredible voice and inspirational story easily won over the judges. Denise Van Outen commented on the performance by saying, "It was just brilliant, you put everything into it. Your vocal was just fabulous. This is truly deserved." But it was judge Louis Walsh who was beyond moved by Barry’s audition. Before anyone could say a word, he stood up and pressed the coveted golden buzzer and sent Barry straight through to the next round.

This man has overcome every hurdle in his life and done so with a positive attitude the entire way. There’s a reason why Barry is walking on the Ireland’s Got Talent stage and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes him.
