Hoda Kotb Cries Over Kathie Lee's Final Gift To Her

Today show host Hoda Kotb cries after receiving a final parting gift from Kathie Lee Gifford.

For eleven years, Kathie Lee and Hoda have hosted the fourth hour of The Today Show together. They have shared so many memories and truly been a staple in many homes across America.

At the end of 2018, Kathie Lee announced that she would be leaving the show in April to pursue other endeavors. The departure was met with much sadness from Kathie Lee’s colleagues, whom she considers family.

As her final days approach, this beloved television host has been taking a look back at some of her favorite moments. Recently, Kathie Lee and Hoda released their final ‘Favorite Things’ segment together and it was definitely a touching moment captured on camera.

As Kathie Lee walked over to a large object with a drape overtop, she looked at Hoda and said, “What do I get my Hoda for eleven years of the joy and honor of sitting next to you. I know you love it when I give you paintings.”

Kathie Lee utilized a local Nashville artist to create a painting of Hoda Kotb and her daughter, Haley Joy. Underneath the painting were the words ‘My joy is non-negotiable.’

The incredible surprise brought Hoda to tears and she embraced Kathie Lee in the tightest hug. As more tears started to flow, Kathie Lee made the motion to cut to the commercial break. These two women have shared so much together and we will all miss Kathie Lee sitting at the table.

Thankfully, another beloved Today show correspondent, Jenna Bush Hager will be right by Hoda’s side for the new fourth hour.
