'Waymaker' Cover From American Idol Alum Genavieve Linkowski

Former American Idol contestant Genavieve Linkowski leads us in worship with the beautiful words of ‘Way Maker.’

This powerful song was originally recorded by Nigerian gospel singer, Sinach. Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith also released a version of the song, which helped propel it to greater popularity.

Now, artists from all over the world are lending their voices to this beautiful song.

“You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness, my God
That is who You are”

We first met Genavieve when she competed on the first season of American Idol on ABC. Genavieve made it all the way to Hollywood before being sent home.

Two years later, she returned to the Idol stage for another shot at the title. But this time was very different because Genavieve was missing one of her main support systems, her sister.

In 2019, Genavieve’s sister, Corrin, lost her life after a bad car accident at the age of 18. The death took a toll on Genavieve and she wondered if she would ever sing again. Thankfully, this talented performer has continued to share her gift with the world and, today, she’s using her voice to give praise to our Lord.

Just listen as she belts out the words to ‘Way Maker’ and reminds us all that there is hope in the arms of the Lord.

“You are here, touching every heart
I worship You
I worship You”

Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

This can create a low-level hum of anxiety if the upcoming family get-togethers feel like a risky walk through a minefield.
