Singer Surprises Strangers At The Park With Gospel Serenade

Sometimes people are in the right place at the right time. In this video, a singer surprises strangers at the park with a gospel serenade.

DeWayne Crocker Jr. begins by introducing himself and his friends from different organizations. They are sharing love with people at a garden center and the gathering place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They start out with shots of espresso to get energized.

First, DeWayne walks up to a sweet woman named Robin, who is sitting on a park bench. He tells her that he would like to sing for her today. After he sings a beautiful short  rendition of Jireh, DeWayne gives Robin a gift card and tells her that he is with a non-profit called “I Like Giving.” He continues to surprise different people. One woman asks if he can sing for her toddler son.

At the end of the video, the guitarist asks DeWayne what his favorite part about singing and the way it impacts others is. He starts by saying that music is a universal language and has a great capacity in reaching people from all places.

He explains how music can help draw people to Christ. They celebrate a day of helping others smile with music and generosity.

Watching this group of young people take time to focus on ministering and blessing others in their community is inspiring. They remind us of the value in giving of our talents, time, and resources.

God has called us to have generous hearts, and we can model His generosity through our gifts and sacrifices for others. Everything we have comes from the Lord, so we can freely give to others today.

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:14

A Prayer for Contentment and Simplicity amidst the Holiday Rush - Your Daily Prayer - December 13

As my heart becomes more aligned with God's heart, through increased time in praise and His presence, my desires shift to His desires. And I start to see that I already have, or am in the process of unfolding, that which my heart ultimately longs for. And my contentment with the simple and small surrounding me swells.
