Ukrainian Nurse Dances With Husband After Losing Both Legs In War
This touching video shows a Ukrainian nurse dancing with her husband on her wedding day after losing both of her legs in the war.
Victor and his 23-year-old bride, Oksana, were still about to share a magical moment on their wedding day, despite the hardships that they have recently faced due to Russia invading Ukraine.
Recently, Oksana lost both of her legs as well as four fingers when she was walking home and a landmine exploded on her. Her and Victor were walking back to their home in Lysychansk, Ukraine. Victor made it out of the horrific event unharmed.
To receive care for her injuries from the landmine, Oksana was treated at two different hospitals before arriving at the hospital in Lviv, Ukraine. This is the hospital where the young couple decided to get married.
Oksana was able to find a beautiful dress, and the two of them got wedding rings to give to one another. They even had people volunteer to make their wedding cake.
The lovebirds were able to share their wedding dance in the hospital ward, and Victor held his bride close in his arms. Despite the tragedy of losing her legs and fingers, Oksana was still able to feel safe and loved on her wedding day while being embraced by the loving arms of her husband.
It is sad and yet so beautiful to think about what this couple has gone through but to see them make it through together. God bless these newlyweds as they face this life together, being strong for one another and loving each other always.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
