'Show Me The Father' Inspiring Documentary Film From The Makers Of War Room

We all have a vision or an idea of what a father is. Whether positive or painful, the film ‘Show Me The Father’ is an inspiring documentary film from the makers of the War Room. And it’s a movie you don’t want to miss. This film is from none other than the Kendrick Brothers.

Dr. Tony Evans says this film will give us a different and unique perspective about our Heavenly Father’s heart because it pivots on the blessings a father would bestow on children woven throughout scripture. “In the Bible, ‘The Blessing’ was everything. That blessing was the covenantal transfer of the favor of God for the future of the child.”

This film reminds us, we are God’s sons and daughters in whom He is well pleased. Can you imagine being sent off this way as an adult? Can you imagine a father who gives, invests, and loves you so intensely, you lack nothing when you leave the nest? The Kendrick brothers did.

Yet, God opened their eyes to the hurt, the pain, and the deep wounds of God’s children who carried wounds from their earthly father. Sadly, how we see our earthly father plays into how well we can see and understand the love of our heavenly father. So, the Kendrick brothers set out to do just that--give us a fresh perspective of just how intensely God loves us. This legacy film, Show Me The Father invites each of us to think differently about our earthly fathers and how we personally relate to God, based on true life stories woven into the film.

This movie is calling each of us to gather as many friends as possible just so we can have our hearts and lives changed by seeing God in a whole new loving way. God reminds us over and over in his word that he is our father and he longs for us to know him truly as the one who loves us relentlessly and recklessly!

"And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty,” 2 Corinthians 6:18

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
