Behind The Scenes Of Christmas Musical ‘Journey To Bethlehem’
The stars of “Journey to Bethlehem” discuss their upcoming film and give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the musical retelling of the events leading up to and including the birth of Jesus Christ.
Americans spend millions of dollars every weekend visiting their local cineplexes. Whether it be an action flick, a slasher film or the latest buddy comedy, Americans enjoy going to the theater. Movies are an excellent way to entertain, share a story and communicate a message that has the potential to reach the masses relatively easily.
In November, the movie-going public will have the chance to check out “Journey to Bethlehem,” a live-action musical film that tells the story of Joseph, Mary and the birth of Jesus Christ, according to IMDB.
In a clip posted on YouTube, some stars of the new film, including Antonio Banderas and Joel Smallbone, half of the duo For King & Country, discussed “Journey to Bethlehem” and treated viewers to a look behind the scenes.
“This is the story that changed B.C. to A.D.,” Joel said. “Everything changed with the birth of Jesus.”
In the film, Antonio plays the evil King Herod. He talked about how Herod knew change was on the horizon and how the world would never be the same.
“He’s a man that, in a way, can smell the change in the air,” Antonio said. “Something’s going to happen that’s going to affect the world in which he thinks everybody should live. Something is happening. Somebody is coming that is going to change that.”
Another familiar face who has a role in “Journey to Bethlehem” is Christian musician Lecrae. In the movie, Lecrae plays Gabriel, the angel sent by God to tell Mary she would give birth to the Savior of the world.
“It’s been a story that has been important for thousands of years,” Lecrae said. “It needs to be told and retold.”
He added how he’s blessed to be a part of a film sharing the world-changing story of Christ’s birth.
“What an amazing opportunity to be the first musical offering of a story this significant,” he said.
Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
