‘For The One' Film Brings Fans Along for an Inspiring Ride with Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake
The new documentary film “For the One” takes fans on an inspiring ride with Christian music artists Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake as they tour the country together.
Many people in the world today are in seemingly hopeless situations, hurting and searching for a solution and answer to their pain and sorrow. They are looking for hope, even the tiniest glimmer that will let them know that not all is lost. Sadly, that likely describes even some people we know personally.
Thankfully, there is an answer to all the pain and heartache: Jesus Christ. He offers love, mercy, healing and forgiveness for sins. So, how do you reach people and share this message with someone who badly needs it but has no interest in attending church? Music is one of the best ways to do this.
Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham, two of the biggest names in Christian music, hit the road together for their Summer Worship Nights tour. The new film chronicles the tour, taking fans on the road and behind the scenes as Brandon and Phil play their tunes for massive crowds across the country, ministering to and sharing the Gospel message with thousands.
In the opening moments of the film’s trailer, Brandon and Phil make their reasons for their cross-country tour clear. They aren’t motivated by money, fame or some other monetary goal; they hope to change hearts and lives and grow the kingdom of God.
“Lives have to change,” Phil says. “Hearts cannot help but change.”
“I wouldn’t be doing it if it was just entertainment,” Brandon says. “But the fact that we come out here and we sing these songs and people actually have an encounter with God.”
In the trailer, Brandon and Phil both mention that touring is rarely, if ever, glamourous. It typically means long, late nights and being away from their families for extended periods of time.
However, the text at the end of the trailer points out that it’s all worth it if it’s for the One.
“For The One” will play in theaters October 27 through the 29th.
