Iam Tongi Moves The Crowd With ‘Guardian’

A fan-favorite contestant on American Idol turned in yet another typical, highly emotional performance.
Voters continue to make their preferences known as the current season of American Idol rapidly heads toward its conclusion. Hundreds of hopeful singers started out on the popular program, but dozens of performances and several months later, only five remain.
All season, Iam Tongi has thrilled the judges, the studio audience and viewers at home. He has consistently put on excellent performances, showing off his terrific and soulful voice. He also has a talent for song selection.
During his latest appearance on the program, Iam gave his emotional and heartfelt take on an Alanis Morrisette hit, “Guardian.” It was a prototypical Iam performance all around, something that many have come to know, love and appreciate.
As the clip posted on YouTube shows, Iam stands in the center of the darkened American Idol stage. Iam, with the lights on him, stands at the microphone as he strums along on the guitar.
Instead of the more upbeat, rock version that was Alanis’s original, Iam takes the song in a much different direction. It’s a slowed and stripped-down take. His vocals really shine through, once again showcasing the young man’s terrific voice.
The audience reacts as they have all season to Iam, delivering him a warm, rousing round of applause.
Throughout his performance, Iam seems to have one person in mind when singing: his mother. At the conclusion of the song, Iam proudly bellows into the microphone, “Love you, Mom.”
Also, Iam does all this with the original writer and singer of “Guardian,” Alanis Morissette, watching and sitting only a few feet away from him. Talk about added pressure!
Iam must be the odds-on favorite to win American Idol this season. He continues to impress each week, giving a little something new with every performance.
Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us sing to the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”

Are you going through a time where you find it difficult to forgive? Are you harboring feelings of resentment or bitterness? Are these feelings ones that you would love to rid yourself of? Jesus doesn’t want your life to be dominated by sin, whether that is your own sin or someone else’s. These are burdens that you are not meant to carry.
